Indian Music Therapy
Music Therapy has captured the imagination of people as an effective healing tool across the globe. For the western world, Music therapy may be a new age idea but in India, the concept of application of musical sound for individual and societal well-being has been recognized and practised diligently since the Vedic period for nearly 5000 years.
Music Therapy in a broad sense relies on specific sound patterns or the mystic energy of structured notes to improve the physical, psychological, emotional, cognitive and social health of people. Music Therapy may be used directly, contributing to the treatment or in conjunction with other treatment for the conditions such as Respiratory conditions like Asthma, Bronchitis, Pain Management in Arthritis, Sleep disorders, Stress and Anxiety, Depression, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson and even Cancer.
