Debapriya Adhikary, Samanwaya Sarkar & Sohon Ghosh

Debapriya and Samanwaya, both A-grade artistes of AIR and Doordarshan, have created a unique duet of Vocal and Sitar, blending their innovative talents and strong friendship. They are the only duo in India performing this fusion. Winners of national and international awards, including the President’s Award, their film Girija - A Lifetime in Music won a National Film Award. They were also honoured at the SharqTaronalari Festival, Uzbekistan.

Samanwaya trained under Pt. Sasanka Bandopadhyaya, Pt. Manilal Nag, Pt. Shyamal Chatterjee, Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukherjee, and Padmavibhushan Girija Devi. An acclaimed sitar maestro, he won the Golden Statuette at the BraVo Awards for best classical performer.

Debapriya’s training includes Dhrupad under Pt. Uday Bhawalkar and Gandabandh discipleship with Girija Devi and Pt. Samaresh Chawdhury. He’s a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture and the ITC SRA Promising Artiste Award. Their performances at global festivals, including Sawai Gandharva, WOMAD UK, Elbphilharmonie (Germany), and the Sitar Festival in St Petersburg, have earned them worldwide recognition.

Sohon started his talim under the guidance of his father, Sri Nirmal Ghosh since his age of 3.Later on, he started and is a ganda-bandhan student of Tabla Maestro Pandit Gobindo Bose ji.He has been appreciated for his tabla accompaniment & solo performances all around the world
